Socio-economic development through welfare, provision of social security and empowerment of socially backward, deprived, poor and troubled communities.

a) Undertake ICT activities of the Directorate with the aim of building Digital Bangladesh by 2021.


b) Providing social security to 50 percent of the country's helpless and troubled population by 2015;


c) By 2015, 50 percent of the poor people in the country will be provided with interest-free micro-loans.


d) Improvement of conditions and standard of living and poverty alleviation;


e) Protection of rights, upbringing, welfare, development and rehabilitation of orphan, neglected, distressed and endangered children;


f) Correction, development and rehabilitation of social offenders;


g) Providing free medical facilities to indigent, distressed patients;


h) protection, promotion, welfare, development and rehabilitation of the rights of persons with disabilities;


j) registration of voluntary social welfare organizations, assistance in their activities and supervision;


j) Welfare, development and rehabilitation of socially handicapped girls;


k) Providing assistance and encouragement in the prevention of social injustice;


l) Providing skill development training to professional social workers;


d) Support and development of acid burn women.
